Nourish To Restore: Spring Allergy Immune Support

Spring doesn’t ask you to force a reset, it invites one. Welcome to Nourish to Restore, a food-as-signal series that helps restore the body's internal balance for skin, mood, and digestion.

This is the season of gentle release. Of clearing what’s been sitting too long. Of supporting your body as it naturally begins to detox, lighten, and reawaken. So today, I’m giving you two simple rituals, each of which are designed to support your system in a different way.

Nettle Tea Infusion for Spring Allergies + Gentle Detox

If your body tends to flare up this time of year, congestion, puffiness, irritation, nettle is your ally.

Why it works:
Nettle is mineral-rich, deeply nourishing to the blood, and acts as a natural antihistamine. It helps calm the body’s overreaction to seasonal shifts while supporting the liver in clearing out winter buildup.

Recipe:

  • 2 teaspoons of dried nettle leaves

  • Hot water

  • Honey or sweetener of choice

Instructions:

Place dried nettle leaves in a tea strainer and place the strainer in a mug. Pour in boiling water, cover, and let it steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Add honey or sweetener of choice, stir to dissolve. Strain out and discard leaves. Sip and enjoy!

Ritual:
Drink daily in the morning or before bed. Think of it as quiet support that's subtle, steady, and very effective.

ROOTED Adaptogenic Cacao Elixir

This one is for your energy, your mood, your nervous system. The part of you that needs to feel held while everything shifts.

Why Cacao in Spring?
Cacao is rich in antioxidants and supports circulation, helping move stagnation out of the body. It naturally boosts serotonin and magnesium levels, which can ease that low, sluggish feeling that sometimes comes with detoxing.

When paired with adaptogens (like in our ROOTED blend), it helps regulate stress response so your body can cleanse without the burnout.

Recipe:

  • 1 TBSP of ROOTED

  • 1–1.5 cups of warm milk or plant-based alt

  • 1 teaspoon honey (or to taste)

DIRECTIONS:

Warm milk gently in a saucepan, add ROOTED into a mug, then pour a small splash of warm milk into mug and stir into a smooth paste. Add the remaining warm milk and stir (or whisk) until silky. Add honey to taste.

(Optional) add a dash of cinnamon for a little extra warmth.

Ritual:
Morning or afternoon, especially when you’d normally reach for caffeine. Let it be grounding, not rushed.

Here’s the shift I want you to anchor into:

You don’t need extreme cleanses. You need consistent, effective support.

That’s how the body actually restores.

And that’s exactly what we build inside Nourish to Restore, habits that work with your biology, not against it. Start simple. Stay consistent. Let your body meet you there.

With care in this season of renewal,
- Shani, Founder
